Methods of Participation in Public Affairs
Fluidra channels its Public Affairs engagement both directly (mainly in the Spanish market) and through sector associations and strategic alliances aligned with its principles and corporate objectives.
We maintain an active and ongoing presence in public and private forums, regularly participating in various consultation processes promoted by administrations and maintaining a constructive, regular dialogue with different public bodies.
Fluidra monitors the alignment of its Public Affairs activity with its sustainability commitments through an approach based on internal criteria and periodic review.
Engagement with Public Administrations and Political Parties
Fluidra holds regular meetings with public administrations and institutional representatives in order to promote sustainable practices in the swimming pool sector. These interactions include in-person or virtual meetings, as well as participation in or collaboration on joint projects.
In line with the commitments established in the Code of Ethics, Fluidra maintains a position of political neutrality. Contributions to political parties, candidates, or electoral coalitions are prohibited in all markets in which the company operates. Fluidra’s Compliance Coordinating Committee is responsible for verifying that there is no influence peddling or illegal financing of political parties during any negotiation process with them.
The company’s positions are defined in advance by the Communication and Public Affairs Department, in coordination with the technical and sustainability areas, ensuring consistency with the company’s ESG commitments.
Fluidra’s relationship with institutions
Participation in National and International Associations
In the countries where it operates, Fluidra is a member of various industry associations and entities through which it contributes to sector development, represents its business interests, and participates in the regulatory debate.
In accordance with Fluidra’s Code of Ethics, participation in each country’s swimming pool sector associations is governed by alignment criteria with the company’s values and commitments, especially regarding sustainability and climate change. In this respect, Fluidra prioritizes involvement in organizations and initiatives that promote innovation and the efficient use of resources, particularly water.
We periodically evaluate our participation in national swimming pool sector associations and entities, taking into account aspects such as:
- The consistency of the entity’s public positions with the company’s sustainability principles.
- Its contribution to the development of balanced regulatory frameworks.
- Its overall alignment with environmental and climate commitments.
If misalignment is identified between Fluidra’s climate change positions and those advocated by the industry associations in which it participates, the company assesses the situation on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the degree of misalignment and the relevance of the organization, Fluidra may take different measures, including:
- Strengthening its active participation in the organization’s bodies to promote positions aligned with its principles.
- Raising its concerns with the association’s governing bodies.
- Reviewing its level of involvement or representation.
- Or, ultimately, reconsidering its continued membership in the organization.
Participation in Public Consultation Processes
Fluidra actively participates in public consultations promoted by regulatory bodies at different levels (municipal, regional, provincial, national, or European), in order to contribute technical knowledge and sector expertise to initiatives related to water, sustainability, and industrial innovation.
Contributions made in these processes are recorded in the relevant public transparency portals, ensuring traceability of participation and access to information on the objectives of each regulatory initiative and the inputs provided by the different stakeholders.
