Vice-president Mr Carod-Rovira visits Fluidra’s state-of-the-art logistics centre in Maçanet de la Selva

The vice-president and acting president of the Catalan Government, Mr Josep-Lluís Carod-Rovira, visited Trace Logistics, the new logistics centre of the Fluidra Group in Maçanet de la Selva, in the province of Girona today. During his visit the vice-president was able to take a close look at one of the country’s most modern and automated logistics infrastructures.

Fluidra is a multinational Catalan group and a leading international company with own branch offices in over 31 countries and a distribution network that spans across 170 countries. The logistics centre of Fluidra, one of Europe’s most modern logistics centres and unique in Spain for its level of automation, covers a surface area of 55,000 m² and has a shipping capacity of 150,000 pallets a year and 60 trucks a day, and the capacity to prepare 10,000 packages a day. The Maçanet centre ships to over 50 different countries across the world. Trace Logistics, which involved an investment of 18 million euros in 2002, employs 100 people in the storage and distribution of the group’s products.

During his visit this morning, the vice-president of the Catalan government was accompanied by several of Fluidra’s senior executives, namely Mr Eloi Planes (CEO), Mr Jaume Carol (operational chief executive), and Mr Jordi Martín (the manager of Trace Logistics). Also present during the visit were Mr Jordi Martinoy, the local representative of the Catalan government in Girona, and Mr Alfons Soms, the mayor of Maçanet de la Selva.
