The project caters to the Commercial Pool & Wellness sector, a booming market that the company has set its sights on.
Fluidra, the world leader in the pool and wellness equipment sector, has announced that it will carry out a project to refurbish and extend the Aquatic Center in Chile’s National Stadium, which will host the 2023 Pan American and Parapan American Games that will be held between 20 October and 5 November, and between 17 and 26 November, respectively, in Santiago de Chile.
The overall cost of the project amounts to €3.6 million and consists in the renovation of the competition pool (50 x 25 x 3 meters) and the training pool (50 x 25 x 2 meters), as well as the refurbishment and extension of the diving pool (20 x 25 x 5 meters). All of the work will be carried out in line with the requisites set in the regulation on facilities by World Aquatics, formerly the International Swimming Federation (FINA).
In the case of the competition and training pools, Fluidra’s proposal includes the renovation of the pools’ coping using Skypool renovation panels in galvanized steel, the replacement of the current hydraulic system units and new swimming competition accessories.
For the diving pool, the project includes the renovation of the pool’s coping using Skypool galvanized steel panels 1.2 meters in height, plus the walkway, the sparger and agitation systems. In addition, it has been proposed to replace and extend the current hydraulic system units with filters, filtration pumps, valves and a disinfection system.
“We are extremely happy to be able to form part of the 2023 Pan American and Parapan American Games in Chile. The alliances that we are building with the main aquatic sports organizations at a world level demonstrate our leading position in the commercial pool sector and our commitment to the sport that we hope to strengthen in the future”.
“Following the pandemic, the commercial pool sector has well and truly blossomed again. Hotels, resorts, sports clubs, competition events, public pools, wellness centers, aquatic parks, etc. have all made a comeback with renewed drive and vibrant growth that we should undoubtedly celebrate. Over the past few years, Fluidra has increasingly engaged in commercial pools by delivering our experience, products and solutions. This is a whole new challenge to continue growing in 2023,” said José R. Fornieles, General Manager of the Commercial Pool, Wellness, Fountains & Lagoons Division at Fluidra.
