Fluidra presents a telemanaged irrigation system in Valencia that saves 30% on costs and maintenance
July 5, 2011The SAMCLA SCR100 telemanagement system makes it possible to
centralise and control all types of lighting and irrigation networks using
an online management program.
Held in Paiporta, the meeting was attended by city planning experts from a
number of city councils in Valencia who wanted to learn about the
advantages of the system.
Fluidra España S. A., the distribution company belonging to the listed Spanish
multinational devoted to the development of applications for the sustainable use of
water, presented the SAMCLA SCR100 in Valencia. This innovative technology
makes it possible to telemanage all automatic watering systems in green spaces
online.
The meeting was attended by over 50 city planning experts from a number of city
councils in Valencia. They were able to learn first-hand about the system that is
already being used in the green spaces of Paiporta, such as the Villa Amparo
gardens, and it makes considerable savings on the management of irrigation water.
In fact, around 5,000 hectares are watered using this system in 35 towns and cities
across Spain, in which savings of over 30% have been recorded, both in water
consumption and associated maintenance costs.
The SAMCLA SCR100 telemanagement system makes it possible to centralise and
control all types of lighting and irrigation networks – from private gardens to a city's
automated watering points – using an online management program. This centralised
system makes it possible to turn irrigation programs on and off, or to automatically
stop irrigation altogether due to meteorological factors such as rain, strong winds or
very low temperatures.
The system contributes to improving the efficiency of processes and reducing
management costs, as maintenance staff does not have to make unnecessary
journeys and vehicles are used less, which translates as less fuel consumption. In
addition, a hybrid communications system is used to communicate with teams online
so they can be reached wherever they are, thus minimising mobile telephone costs.
