Fluidra, the listed Spanish multinational group devoted to the development of applications for the sustainable use of water, has opened a branch office in Vietnam to boost its business in Asia.
Working from this new branch office will enable Fluidra to make the most of the opportunities this country offers thanks to its proximity to China and major trade routes. According to the World Bank, Vietnam is experiencing growth of 5.4%, which coupled with its emerging middle class makes it an attractive place for international companies that wish to expand on the Asian continent.
In a statement, Eloi Planes, Fluidra’s CEO, explained that “We are well familiar with the Vietnamese market as we have been exporting our products there for over 20 years and our brand AstralPool has become a leader in the pool sector. Our growth strategy has now moved on to running branch offices in the country so that we can play a part in improving its tourist infrastructures”.
Vietnam has managed to gain a stronger foothold as an increasingly popular tourist destination in the Asia-Pacific region. It now has plans to invest in infrastructures and hotel developments, as well as improving its transport links and infrastructures to make it easier for international travelers to get there and to travel around the country once they arrive. The booming tourist industry is attracting the hotel sector, which could significantly increase the demand for Fluidra’s products.
Following this opening, the company now has 43 branch offices around the world. The six Asian branches in China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand are now joined by Vietnam to bring the number up to seven.
The company has recently won major contracts in Vietnam. Last year it installed swimming pools and water features at the Angsana Lang Co Resort, a development estimated to be worth 1.3 million euros whose facilities include five pools of 700 cubic meters with five different water features, pools of 20 m3 for each of its 132 private suites, in addition to saunas and steam rooms.
In 2015, the group will install a spa and pools for 12 luxury suites at one of the Banyan Tree Lang Co Residences for a total of 330,000 euros.
