Fluidra opens a branch in Croatia

The country is an important tourist destination and presents business opportunities in swimming pool construction and wellness centers.

With this opening, plus the already existing branches in Serbia, Montenegro, Romania and Bulgaria, the group now has five branches in the region and operations in 44 countries around the world.

Eastern European sales reached 30 million euros in 2014, 5.2% of the group’s total sales revenues.
Fluidra, the multinational group listed in the Spanish stock market devoted to developing applications for the sustainable use of water, has opened a branch in Croatia to boost its business in Eastern Europe. The new branch, based in Zagreb, adds to those the group already has in Serbia, Montenegro, Romania and Bulgaria.
The region is strategic for Fluidra, which earned 30 million euros in Eastern Europe in 2014, namely, 5.2% of its total sales. The new branch measures around 600 m3 with offices and storage space and is managed by Nino Ganchev, who is also the manager of Fluidra Serbia and Montenegro.
According to Eloi Planes, CEO of the Fluidra Group: “Croatia offers many possibilities for the water sector as it is one of the biggest tourist destinations in the Mediterranean. The country has invested a great deal in quality infrastructures, such as pools, wellness facilities and spas, in order to attract a high level of tourism all year round.”
With a population of 4.2 million inhabitants, Croatia as a country is very centered around tourism, which accounts for 15% of its gross domestic product. Around 13 million tourists, primarily Germans, Slovenians and Austrians, visited Croatia last year. The country is implementing the Croatia 365 programme to break the seasonal nature of its tourism demand and provide attractions all year long, such as its rich gastronomy, cultural proposals and routes focused on health and wellbeing.
