Fluidra, the Spanish listed multinational group devoted to developing applications for the sustainable use of water, released its results today for the 2015 business year that showed a favourable evolution in all performance indicators.
Sales in 2015 were up by 9% to reach 647.3 million euros, EBITDA by 9.9% up to 72.2 million euros and net profit increased by 95.7% – practically double that of the previous year – up to 13 million euros.
The good growth of sales was mainly due to Spain (+11.4%), Australia and Africa with double figure increases, the latter boosted by the contribution of the South African company Waterlinx acquired last summer. Almost all European markets recorded growth, whilst business in China contracted.
The Pool & Wellness Unit, which as Fluidra’s main business accounts for 90% of its turnover, grew by 11.6% to reach 584.2 million euros. It showed a favourable evolution in its four fields: residential pools, commercial pools, water treatment and fluid handling.
The Irrigation and Domestic Water Treatment Unit, which accounts for 6% of Fluidra’s business, reached sales of 40.2 million euros. The Industrial and Other Business Unit, which accounts for 4% of Fluidra’s business, decreased from 27.1 to 23 million euros, associated with the decrease in China.
Eloi Planes, Fluidra’s Executive President, stated that “2015’s results are totally in line with our Strategic Plan’s focus on the growth of sales and profits. Fluidra has a clear, well-defined plan for the future and 2015 saw us taking a step in the right direction towards attaining our set targets”.
Last November, Fluidra presented its 2018 Strategic Plan with which the group anticipates reaching 750 million euros in sales and EBITDA of 100 million euros in 2018.
