Fluidra grows: 16% in sales and 27% in operating profit

The Spanish market experienced significant growth (+3.3%). France, Australia and Africa also showed double-digit growth

Fluidra, the listed Spanish multinational group devoted to the development of applications for the sustainable use of water for Pools& Wellness, presented its results today for the first quarter of business year 2016, for which it reported a favourable evolution of all management indicators.
Sales increased by 16.1% to reach 156.5 million euros, EBITDA rose by 27.4% to 13.1 million euros and net profit registered a significant turnaround with profits of 0.4 million euros. The most outstanding growth in sales came from Spain (13.3%), France and the rest of Southern Europe (26.2%), and from Africa in the Rest of the World, which increased by 41.8% thanks to the incorporation of Fluidra Waterlinx in South Africa, an acquisition completed in August of last year. The zone of Asia &Australia showed an uneven evolution:whilst business in China contracted, Australia continued to grow by double-digit figures.
Pool & Wellness accounted for 90.3% of Fluidra’s business in this first quarter. It grew by 15.7% to reach 141.3 million euros. The extremely favourable evolution of Pool Water Treatment is worth highlighting with an increase of 24.4% in comparison with the same period last year. Irrigation and Domestic Water Treatment, 6.2% of Fluidra’s business, reached sales of 9.7 million euros, an increase of 12.9%. Industrial & Others, 3.5% of Fluidra’s business, also grew from 4.1 to 5.5 million euros.
Eloi Planes, executive president of Fluidra, stated that “even our organic growth figures are in double digits. Without counting acquisitions, our sales have grown by 10% and EBITDA by 17%. This is a clear sign of the good health and progress made by Fluidra. The results for the first quarter make our forecast for the 2016 campaign positive, in line with our Strategic Plan focused on the growth of sales and profitability.”
Last November, Fluidra presented its 2018 Strategic Plan with which the group anticipates reaching 750 million euros in sales and EBITDA of 100 million euros.
