The turnkey project helps further consolidate the company’s Commercial Pool division.
Fluidra, a global leader in pool and wellness equipment, has announced that it will build the Olympic pool to be used for water polo competitions and other aquatic disciplines at the Aquatic Sports Centre on the Maltese island of Gozo.
For this turnkey project, which is estimated to be completed in 6 months and amounts to more than €1 million, Fluidra Commercial Italia together with Fluidra Engineering will be responsible for all mechanical, electrical and hydraulic engineering work using the BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology, which will allow for comprehensive, shared and co-ordinated operation of the pool throughout its life cycle.
The pool will be 50 m x 25 m in size with a depth of between 2.2 m and 3 m. The system selected for the project is Skypool, which is a technological solution patented by Fluidra consisting of prefabricated hot galvanized steel panels secured to a concrete block which are then covered in PVC-P sheeting.
In addition to the Olympic pool, the centre will also have a multipurpose community pool and will be adjacent to another sports complex currently under development, which will have a 500m2 gym and other ancillary facilities, including a first aid room.
