Fluidra announces the opening of its subsidiary in Serbia on Shareholders’ Day
May 20, 2011The multinational opens Fluidra Adriatic, a subsidiary set up to respond to
the needs of the markets of southeast Europe, which show a notable
potential for growth over the next few years.
Thanks to this new subsidiary the company has made further headway in
its process of internationalisation and has increased the number of
countries in which it operates through branch offices to 35.
The group’s CEO, Eloi Planes, announced the new opening on
Shareholders’ Day, one of the group’s initiatives to improve
communication channels and transparency with its shareholders.
Fluidra, the listed Spanish multinational dedicated to the development of applications
for the sustainable use of water, will open a subsidiary in Serbia. Located in Belgrade,
the country’s capital, the company has made further headway in its process of
internationalisation and has increased the number of countries in which it operates to
35 through its network of over 140 branch offices.
The group’s CEO, Eloi Planes, announced the opening of the new branch office during
the celebrations held at its headquarters to mark the second edition of Shareholders’
Day, an initiative that falls under Fluidra’s strategy to improve its communications and
information channels with this interest group. Last year, a specific area for
shareholders was created on the website and the Shareholder’s Office was opened at
the corporate headquarters with this objective in mind.
Accompanied by Xavier Tintoré and Cori Pellicer, the group’s CFO and the Director of
Investor and Shareholder Relations respectively, Eloi Planes chatted to the
shareholders about the group’s priorities and he gave them full details about the new
branch office.
Located in Belgrade, the country’s capital, Fluidra Adriatic will have 500 m 2 of office
and warehouse space, which will serve to supply the markets of Serbia and
Montenegro. Initially, pool and fluid handling products will be sold, however, the
company intends to develop its water treatment business in this region.
Fluidra has thus been able to make further headway in the process of
internationalisation and has become the first leading company to set up operations in
the countries of southeast Europe. The branch office in Serbia joins forces with those
already running in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
Thanks to its proximity to the Adriatic Sea, Serbia and Montenegro enjoy a pleasant
climate in the summer, which translates as a potentially higher demand for swimming
pools. In addition, both countries have made a firm commitment to tourism in order to
boost their economies, and they show a notable potential for growth over the next few
years.
Fluidra Adriatic will be headed by Nino Ganchev, who over the previous ten years held
the post of manager of Astral SNG, Fluidra’s branch office in Russia. The new branch
office will initially employ six people.
