Fluidra announces the opening of its subsidiary in Indonesia and creates a new structure in Asia

The access to Indonesia has been done through the acquisition of Dunia Renang, the second swimming pool company of the country, with a market share of 20% and a turnover of 3 million Euros.
Fluidra, a Spanish listed multinational group with the commitment to develop applications for the sustainable use of water has opened its subsidiary in Indonesia. Placed in the country’s capital, Jakarta, the subsidiary completes the plans of internationalization of the Group in South East Asia, area in which the company is already present in China, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
The company, which in Asia will be Fluidra Indonesia, will access through this new market thanks to the acquisition of Dunia Renang, the second swimming pool company of the country, with a market share of 20% and a turnover of 3 million Euros.
The new branch office is placed in the business center of south Jakarta, the country capital, and the neuralgic business centre. With 1750 square meters, including offices and warehouses, and 20 employees, It will trade with products from the Spanish, Chinese and Australian factories. Fluidra will follow its strategy of product diversification and will introduce its water treatment and fluid handling business units.

Indonesia, with 220 million people, is the fourth most populous country in the world and has the kind of weather conditions that invite to enjoy swimming pools. Besides, as in the rest of the area, there are a growing number of hotels under construction which need spas and water facilities.
This country has been experiencing an annual growth of 5% in the last decade and it is considered by the OCDE as a one of the strongest markets of the South East of Asia, and the 5th emerging country after the BRIC (Brasil, Rusia, India & China). It is a member of the G-20 of the most outstanding economies in the world, and the forecasts says its economy will continue growing during the next decade thanks to its domestic demand.
This growth turns Indonesia into a country with opportunities for all the business areas of Fluidra: swimming pool/wellness, water treatment, water handling and irrigation.
To boost the business in Asia, one of the continents with a higher growth potential for Fluidra, the Group has decided to create a new organization. The Asia division will bring together the operations of China, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, countries which, altogether with Indonesia are present in Fluidra.
The new branch will be managed by Phil Jin, an American born in China with a strong experience as a Manager and CEO in multinational companies of the area
