Fluidra’s Board of Directors has appointed Brian McDonald as a new independent director of the global leader in the pool and wellness equipment business to replace Richard Cathcart.
The appointment, which will have to be ratified at the next AGM, will be effective from 6 September, when Cathcart’s post comes to an end, following 12 years sitting on the group’s top governing body.
With a Degree in Physics from the United States Naval Academy and an MBA from the University of Virginia, McDonald has been the CEO of RGIS, a global leader in the management of inventories with operations in 30 countries.
He had previously worked for more than 10 years for Tyco International, where he held various senior management posts as Executive Vice President and Director of Operations.
McDonald’s recruitment is a step further in the search for a Board that is able to truly reflect the businesses and markets in which the group operates, especially the American one, which following the merger sealed last year with the American company Zodiac, has become Fluidra’s most critical market.
