The multinational group is responsible for installing the four swimming pools for the Asian games with the most advanced technological solutions.
Fluidra, the listed Spanish multinational group devoted to the Pool & Wellness sector, is completing the works for the installation of the four swimming pools that will be used for the aquatic disciplines of the 2018 Asian Games, a competition to be held in August of next year in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.
The project, valued at 56.4 trillion rupiah (about 4 million Euros), covers the four swimming pools that will host the activities related to competitions such as swimming, synchronized swimming, water polo and diving as well as the installation of a warm-up pool for the athletes. Three of these swimming pools have been built with galvanized SkyPool metal panels instead of concrete.
In this project, Fluidra uses various technological solutions for the hydraulic, filtration and disinfection systems (with ultraviolet disinfection, automatic metering equipment and automatic control and regulation). All of the swimming pools, except for the warm-up pool, are waterproofed with a PVC liner. Furthermore, for the main competition pool, Fluidra will install a mobile bulkhead that will allow different activities to be carried out simultaneously in the same swimming pool.
Other important elements that will be included are the equipment and materials for the water polo and diving competitions, as well as the timing system.
For five years, Fluidra has had an office in Jakarta, which will make it much easier to prepare for the 2018 Asian Games, which will include sports competitions in both Jakarta and Palembang (in the south of the island of Sumatra).
Xavier Pavon, the General Manager of Fluidra Asia, states that “the Asian Games is the most important sporting event on the continent after the Olympic Games. That’s why this is a very prestigious project.”
