Fluidra’s profits up by 85% to reach 24 million euros
February 27, 2017Sales went up by 10.2% to 713.3 million euros, EBITDA grew by 19.1% to reach 86 million euros and net profit by 85.2% to 24.1 million euros.
Performance on an international level was very positive on all markets, particularly in southern Europe including Spain, as well as in Australia and South Africa.
“2016 proved to be an excellent year for Fluidra. Our forecasts for 2017 will put us ahead of fulfilling the 2018 Strategic Plan by one year”, stated Eloi Planes, Fluidra’s executive president.
Fluidra, the listed Spanish multinational dedicated to the development of applications for the sustainable use of water for Pools & Wellness, released its results today for the 2016 business year.
All management indicators showed favourable performance, particularly in terms of profits, which Fluidra once again practically doubled: from 6.6 million euros in 2014, to 13 million in 2015 and to 24.1 million in 2016.
Sales in 2016 were up by 10.2% to reach 713.3 million euros, EBITDA by 19.1% up to 86 million euros and net profit increased by 85.2% up to 24.1 million euros.
All the geographical areas contributed to the growth in sales, above all in southern Europe including Spain, as well as in Australia and Africa. In the latter case, growth was boosted by the contribution of the South African company acquired in 2015, Fluidra Waterlinx. Growth was registered in practically all European markets, of which it is worth highlighting the activity of SIBO Fluidra acquired last summer in the Netherlands and in the United Kingdom, despite Brexit.
Pool & Wellness, which as Fluidra’s main business accounts for 91.4% of its sales, grew by 11.6% to reach 651.8 million euros. Residential pools, water treatment and fluid handling showed particularly favourable performance thanks to a long and good summer campaign in Europe, Australia and South Africa.
Eloi Planes, Fluidra’s executive president, stated that “2016 was an excellent year for Fluidra. We are frankly satisfied and we will continue to work along the lines set in our Strategic Plan: a focus on Pool & Wellness, market penetration, and improving our efficiency and profitability. Our forecasts for 2017 will put us ahead of fulfilling the 2018 Strategic Plan by one year.”
Towards the end of 2015, Fluidra presented the Strategic Plan with which the group anticipates reaching 750 million euros in sales and EBITDA of 100 million euros in 2018.
