Fluidra increases its sales by 5.6% and reports net profits of 15.9 million Euros
February 25, 2011Fluidra has entered a new stage of growth with reported sales of 581.2
million Euros in 2010. Earnings before interest, tax and depreciation grew
by 30.0%, reaching 64.9 million Euros.
The company's results beat the expectations for sales and profitability.
The new branch openings in South Africa, Egypt and Malaysia in the last
12 months, and the acquisition announced last week of Aqua Products, a
US-based company, have further strengthened Fluidra's already strong
international expansion.
Fluidra, a multinational group listed on the Spanish stock exchange and specialising
in the development of applications for the sustainable use of water, presented its
results for 2010 earlier today.
Fluidra ended the year with sales of 581.2 million Euros, 5.6% higher than last year,
thanks to the strong growth recorded by all business units. 75% of sales are made
outside Spain.
In terms of geographical regions, Spain grew by 3.1% while the rest of Europe
maintained a similar level to last year. Large markets such as France experienced
positive growth, with Eastern Europe growing by 5.9%. Asia and Australia continued
their positive trend with year-on-year growth of more than 25%. In the rest of the
world Fluidra grew by 20%.
The increase in earnings before interest, tax and depreciation (EBITDA), from 50.0 to
64.9 million Euros (+30.0%), was driven by all Divisions, and was fuelled mainly by a
rise in Sales and Gross Margin and increased productivity, with Net Profit reaching
15.9 million Euros at the end of 2010.
The generation of Free Cash Flow, which stood at 28.3 million Euros -well above net
profit- reflects the company's strong management capacity.
“This year's good results confirm the validity of our internationalisation strategy,
which has been further strengthened by the purchase, announced last week, of Aqua Products, a US-based market leader in the technology of robotic pool cleaners", says
Eloi Planes, Fluidra's CEO, before adding, "In addition to these positive figures for
2010, the work done gives us an excellent basis to further grow our business in
2011.”
