España has demonstrated to its stakeholders that it manages its business
efficiently and responsibly.
The OHSAS 18001 certificate is an international, voluntary standard that has
been well received and successful all over the world as an efficient tool in the
prevention of hazards in the workplace. It comprises three fundamental
advantages:
It has contributed to the decrease of the workplace accident rate, and
thereby increased productivity.
It helps to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
It creates an awareness of health and safety issues through the
integration of occupational hazard prevention in a business’s general
system.
This certificate facilitates the identification and evaluation of risk in the
workplace, and thereby defines the policies, organisational structure,
responsibilities, functions, activity planning, and the processes and resources a business should implement in the future. It allows systems of health and safety
management to be put into place in the workplace, but also ensures that such
systems are constantly reviewed, maintained and evaluated. OHSAS 18001
was created to be compatible with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 in order to help
organisations effectively perform their health and safety obligations.
