Fluidra, Damm Group and Pilarin Bayés winners of Aster Awards in Catalonia

ESIC Business School organizes on June the 26 th the graduation ceremony of students of undergraduate
and postgraduate Promotion 2010-2011, and the Aster Awards, given annually by ESIC, which celebrates
30 years since its creation and is delivered in its 5th edition in Barcelona. This year the event will be
chaired by the President of Catalan Government, Artur Mas, and will be attended by 800 people
including students, relatives and personalities from academic and business field.
ESIC has called since 30 years ago the Aster Awards, which are given annually in recognition of the
merits of people and entities for their professional activity with the intention of enhancing the
integration between academic and business life. The Aster Awards juries are made up of leading figures
from business and academic field.
This year the Business Career Aster Award will be granted to Fluidra, for innovating constantly in the
industrial field and for its internationalization and business project. The prize will be collected by
Fluidra’s President, Joan Planes.
In this edition, in the Aster Business Career category there are two Special Mentions, to the Barcelona
Food Bank Foundation and Arrels Foundation, for having managed successfully the foundations and for
its recognized social work in a complicated economic situation.
The Aster Business Communication Award will be awarded to Damm Group, for its communication
campaign "Mediterráneamente"; for being innovative in the sector, for its originality and for maintaining
a quality theme that focuses on Mediterranean culture elements. In this same category, the Aster
Professional Communication Award is given to illustrator Pilarin Bayés, who has managed to
communicate the Catalan history, values and culture through his work.
In this edition, during the ceremony 450 students who completed their undergraduate and graduate
studies last year in the school will be graduating. The teaching faculty will also be present at the
graduation ceremony accompanying the entire group of students.
