Fluidra fountains in one of the best public parks for kids in Spain
The Parque de las Familias, formerly known as Ciudad de los Niños, is a park located in the Spanish city of Almería. Developed in two phases, the first of which has been open to the public since its inauguration on November 14, 2014. With a total area of 95,045 m2, this park is the largest area for use by children only in Andalusia, which surpasses Granada's Federico García Lorca park. It is bordered by Calle Argentinita, Calle Antonio Muñoz Zamora and Avenida del Mediterráneo; in addition to the future connection between Avenida Alhambra and Avenida Adolfo Suárez. Two years after its opening to the public, an estimated 1.2 million people have visited the park. It is a fenced enclosure, which is open to the public only during daylight hours. The park has playgrounds related to different aspects of the city: the Alcazaba, the nature of the Cabo de Gata-Níjar natural park and the fiction of spaghetti western cinema. In addition, it has a 6,000 m² fountain with water, light and sound features and an amphitheater with capacity for 500. The inclusion of two catering establishments was also included in its design. In March 2016, the Parque de las Familias was recognized as the "best playground in Spain" when it received the Columpio de Oro award.
