    Kids’ faces light up when they see swimming pools with slides: they know that hours or days of guaranteed fun lie ahead.

    Pools with slides are an added value for any facility designed with kids in mind. With over 1.3 million swimming pools (including residential and public pools), Spain is the fourth in the world and the second in Europe in terms of the number of swimming pools, according to ASOFAP.

    In such a competitive market, where there is no shortage of recreational and tourism offers, swimming pools with slides give facilities an advantage, creating a powerful brand image that families like.

    With this in mind, hotels and resorts with multi-purpose pools are opting for both indoor and outdoor pools with slides, creating their own water parks tailored to their needs.

    Pools with slides come in a wide range of options, from an organic and harmonious finish to a colorful and cheerful aesthetic.

    At a visual level, using soft, irregular shapes is recommended to maximize fun while preventing any friction or safety problems.

    Finish options, on the other hand, include ceramic tiles, glass and PVC coating, while the most recommended construction system for building irregular shapes is concrete.

    Because slides are designed for children and young people, safety considerations during installation are paramount. At this point, an average temperature of 30 to 32ºC for non-heated indoor and outdoor pools and a depth of between 1.2 and 1.6 meters is recommended.

    When it comes to technical features, the recirculation time will vary depending on local regulations. For example, according to British standards, the recommended recirculation time is 2 hours for pools 1.2 to 1.6 m deep.

    On the other hand, the recommended water treatment may involve hypochlorite dosing, but a good alternative could be a salt chlorinator to reduce maintenance costs.

    In terms of water recirculation, an overflow system around the entire edge of the pool is the most efficient method.

    Finally, with regard to regulations, it will be important to check current regulations and adapt each project’s design to local regulatory requirements.
